Keith Wyness: Leicester City face some tough days ahead, ‘they’ve got a lot of legal issues still’ Tue 17 March 2026 11:30, UK Leicester City’s hierarchy need to prove they can work together and show strong leadership amid fan dissatisfaction at behind-the-scenes changes.That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes the restructure at Leicester is “not the perfect solution” for the club.Changes at the Championship club include Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha stepping down from his role as chief executive, and Jon Rudkin becoming their new chief football officer.Leicester are currently appealing against a six-point deduction imposed on them by the English Football League for breaching financial rules, leaving the club in a fight to remain in the second tier.Leicester City ‘facing some tough days ahead’Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes a smaller team behind the scenes at a club makes decision-making “much easier.”Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness states that Leicester fans are “unhappy” with the new structure of the club. “It’s what makes things much easier and quicker to react and allows for greater cohesion and alignment, in my view. So it’s still not the perfect solution in my view.
