Liverpool are unlikely to try and sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle this summer, despite a serious injury to Hugo Ekitike. That’s according to journalist David Ornstein, who has refuted suggestions that the Reds will look to pluck Gordon as part of their attacking rebuild.Thursday brought reports that Gordon will push to leave Newcastle, with Liverpool seen as a possible landing spot, but according to Ornstein, there are no plans from either club or player to make that happen. Is a fifth-place finish enough to warrant Arne Slot remaining Liverpool manager?

Newcastle seem open to a sale but at the right price and if the reported £80m is true, that will not be easily achieved.”Though Gordon joining Liverpool would seemingly make sense for everyone involved here, it appears that the Reds have different plans, for now at least.
