Liverpool supporters were heard booing their team at the final whistle of their 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. The Reds put in a decent first-half performance to go in 1-0 up at the break, but, as they often have this season, they disintegrated during the second period, conceding a later equaliser.Fans were right to be frustrated and, not for the first time this year, they made their feelings heard at full-time. Asked about the Anfield boos post-game, goal scorer Dominik Szoboszlai urged supporters to lend their support in a ‘difficult time’ for Liverpool.

Sadly for everyone involved, a year of watching turgid Arne Slot football has changed that. The dissent was loud at the final whistle, and when asked to give his thoughts for Sky Sports, Szoboszlai admitted that although he understands the boos, he would like to hear more support for the champions.“I didn’t hear the boos, but we can understand them because we are not performing how we should be,” he said.Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/Getty ImagesREAD MORE: Liverpool player ratings vs Tottenham as Dominik Szoboszlai beaten to Man of the Match“But I think they should stand behind us because last season we became Champions four games before the end and everybody was happy.
