Liverpool continue to shock the footballing world with their financial powers this summer.

The club have already completed the club-record signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen and now have set their sights on spending big for Hugo Ekitike.

Two days ago, Liverpool submitted a bid to Eintracht Frankfurt that was close to 80million euros, Frankfurt rejected it and asked for more.

Hugo Ekitike has continued to express his desire to move to Liverpool, as he views it as his ‘dream club’.

The clubs have continued to work on the deal and there has now been a development that will shake up the transfer market once more.

Christian Falk has reported that Liverpool are preparing a maga offer of 100million euros for Hugo Ekitike.

The signing of Hugo Ekitike will also play a role in deciding Luis Diaz’s future.

Bayern Munich are expected to submit a third bid for Luis Diaz soon, but Liverpool will only be open to selling him if their attack is reinforced beforehand.

If Liverpool go ahead and sign Ekitike, the transfer fee they would receive for the Luis Diaz transfer will be reinvested back into the team.

Liverpool were always aiming to add a striker to the team this window.

They approached Newcastle to discuss the possibility of signing Alexander Isak, but after Newcastle stayed firm on their stance that the Swede is not for sale, they turned their attention to a target of Newcastle’s at the time, Hugo Ekitike.

However, Fabizio Romano confirmed that Hugo Ekitike was not a second choice, or a back-up plan, as he was a player Liverpool wanted from the beginning of the window.

Now, with the news that a 100million euro bid is incoming for Ekitike, it appears that Liverpool are pushing hard to get this deal over the line.
