Federico Chiesa was brought in last summer with most Liverpool fans expecting him to be the bargain of the season.

The Italy international was brought in to be Mohamed Salah’s back-up, and although the Egyptian King was in the form of his life, it feels like Chiesa should have still been given more chances.

However, talks of an exit seemed to die down with many now expecting Liverpool to keep him for the 2025-26 season, but, evidently, that is not the case.

The report outlines that although the Bologna attacker already has an ‘agreement in principle’ with the Naples-based club, Forest have now ‘entered the fray.’

Ndoye is ‘open’ to hearing the offer from the Premier League side, and if a move is sanctioned, Napoli’s move for Chiesa could now come back ‘alive’ as they may turn towards their alternative targets.

However, with players such as Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott both close to exiting, it’s unclear what the Reds’ attacking force is going to look like by the start of the season.

The Italy international also only cost Liverpool around £12million to bring in last season, so they’re not likely to lose any money on him, even if he does have another season on the sidelines.
