Galatasaray fans brought the city centre to life this evening as they gathered in large numbers to see their team off ahead of tonight's 8pm clash at Anfield. Crowds lined Dale Street, with supporters packing the surrounding area and spilling onto nearby roads as the team bus prepared to depart from The Municipal Hotel.
Police closed the road temporarily, with Sir Thomas Street One Way Street shut between the A57 Dale Street and Victoria Street while the squad boarded the bus. It will be the only chance for the Turkish side's supporters to catch a glimpse of their team, after UEFA banned Galatasaray from selling away tickets for one match following incidents involving the throwing of objects, the use of fireworks and crowd disturbances during last month's play-off against Juventus.
