The 2025 Football Business Awards highlighted Liverpool FC’s outstanding off-pitch success, recognising a year of records and fan connection.
In modern football, what happens off the pitch matters just as much as what happens on it.
Clubs aren’t just judged by their trophies anymore.
They’re judged by how they connect with fans, how they tell their stories, and how they stand out online.
It’s why digital teams now play a massive role.
They don’t just post goals and match updates.
They create moments, shape conversations, and help fans feel closer to the club—no matter where they are in the world.
Liverpool FC understands that.
And at the 2025 Football Business Awards, that understanding was recognised in a big way.
Liverpool FC’s media team were crowned Best Digital/Social Media Team at this year’s Football Business Awards, beating out top clubs for their outstanding digital performance during the 2023-24 season, as confirmed via the club’s official site.
The Football Business Awards are one of the most respected events in the industry.
They recognise clubs, sponsors, and professionals who excel behind the scenes.
It’s not about goals and assists.
It’s about innovation, fan connection, and community impact.
Liverpool’s win wasn’t a surprise.
In 2023-24, they were the most-engaged Premier League club, generating more than 1.5 billion engagements and growing their social media following to over 200 million fans worldwide.
Their coverage of the Reds’ historic 20th league title was also a milestone.
It became the most-engaged Premier League win ever and marked the club’s most-engaged day of all time on social media.
The club’s digital team keeps the content rolling 365 days a year.
From training and matchday footage to behind-the-scenes access and purpose-driven stories, their work drives massive reach and value—for both fans and partners.
That includes emotional stories under their Red Together initiative, like when they marked the UN’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities by sharing the story of Isaac Kearney, a young fan living with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome.
Liverpool were also shortlisted for Best Fan Engagement by a Club – Premier League.
They were nominated alongside Leicester City, Man City, Man United, Southampton, Tottenham, and Wolves for their Supporter Engagement Strategy.
In addition, the LFC Foundation was nominated for Best Football Community Scheme – Premier League & Championship, joining clubs like Aston Villa, Brighton, Burnley, Watford, Southampton, and Bournemouth.
It was a big night for the Reds.
Not just for what they’ve won—but for how they’ve stayed connected to fans, led with purpose, and brought the Liverpool story to the world.
