Liverpool are locked in negotiations to add further signings following their addition of Jeremie Frimpong this summer.
Frimpong has been signed nice and early to add pace and power to the Reds’ options at right-back and in attack next season.
Having got one through the door, Liverpool are now working to sign Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
Although things are taking a little longer than fans would ideally like, the expectation remains that both Wirtz and Kerkez will be added to the Liverpool squad.
But the Reds should not be done there.
And after Liverpool missed out on top target Dean Huijsen, they have been sent a timely reminder that there are still some top quality options on the market.

There is an argument that if Liverpool do not lose a centre-back this summer, they can go into next season with what they already have.
Nevertheless, Jarell Quansah has been linked with a move away and there are continuous question marks over Joe Gomez.
Having not signed a central defender since 2021, Liverpool need to get their act together.
As a result, Liverpool need to pivot.
And who better to turn to than Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie?

Liverpool have been linked with Hincapie plenty in the past, and the 23-year-old showed why on Friday morning against Brazil.
Up against a front line of Estevao Willian, Vinicius Junior and Richarlison, Hincapie kept Brazil at bay.
According to Sports Illustrated, the Leverkusen player was man of the match, while Fotmob also rated him as the game’s best performer.
Having won seven out of eight duels, made three clearances, one interception and nine recoveries, Hincapie underlined his credentials as Liverpool’s new centre-back.
While the focus seemed to be completely on Huijsen, the rest of the centre-back market appeared to be somewhat forgotten.

But with Liverpool badly in need of future-proofing their back line, they will be aware of who and what is out there.
Hincapie’s agent recently confirmed he is likely to be available this summer, with a release of around £42m previously mooted as being written into his contract.
Liverpool have obviously been dealing with Leverkusen at length over recent weeks and it would be no surprise if Hincapie has come up in those conversations as well.
Wirtz and then Kerkez are the focus now, but beyond that there is work to do for Liverpool.
