Ngumoha was the big star of the show, the 16-year-old showing why the hype over his emergence is justified.
Wirtz has been another top performer of recent matches, with the big-money signing showing exactly why Liverpool were so willing to pay such a massive price to sign him.
But away from all the hype over Ngumoha, Wirtz and others, Cody Gakpo has quietly made this summer’s pre-season his own.
Gakpo’s place in the team has been under threat after the arrival of Hugo Ekitike, as well as Liverpool’s continued pursuit of Alexander Isak.

Throughout pre-season so far, Liverpool supporters have been spoilt with the chances of seeing new signings make their first steps for the club.
Wirtz has generated understandable excitement, but Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Ekitike have all been capturing the imagination of fans as well.

In amongst all of that, Gakpo has been somewhat forgotten.
Despite Luis Diaz sealing his move to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, the 26-year-old would still not be a part of many fans’ starting XIs next season.
Nevertheless, Gakpo clearly still has an important part to play in the Liverpool squad.

He scored during the Reds’ first outing of the summer against Preston North End, before following that up with a lovely header in the clash with AC Milan on Saturday.
Gakpo didn’t score on Wednesday, but he was Liverpool’s biggest threat during the first-half against Yokohama F.
The £44m man hit the post with a lovely, bending effort and sent a reminder to Slot and everyone watching about what he can offer the Reds.
Diaz and Gakpo shared the left wing role for much of last season, with the Colombian often winning the battle.
Now that Diaz has left, Gakpo may be feeling the slot should be his for the upcoming campaign.
Nevertheless, Liverpool’s pursuit of Isak will likely make a big impact on that.
Should the Swede end up at Anfield, it feels possible that Gakpo and Ekitike will share the left side.
Meanwhile, Ngumoha is sending a real message that he could be a genuine challenger to Gakpo as well.
Whatever happens, it’s likely that the Netherlands international will continue to go under the radar.
But while fans may have their favourites over Gakpo, he has quietly delivered a pre-season which has once again underlined his quality.
