Liverpool fans finally got the moment they were waiting for this season with the Premier League trophy lift on Sunday.

A 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace did little to ruin the party-like atmosphere at Anfield as Liverpool supporters at long last got to watch the league title presented to Arne Slot’s side having won the Premier League in comfortable fashion.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold receiving a good reception from Liverpool fans, it was a day of celebration for the club, even if it meant saying goodbye to some modern-day legends after what has been a historic season for the Reds.

Indeed, Alexander-Arnold is so far the only confirmed player to be leaving Merseyside this summer, yet one Liverpool player on social media might have just hinted that he could be joining the England international out the exit door in the coming weeks.

Harvey Elliott has had an unusual season at Liverpool, with the former Fulham wonderkid going from the future of the Reds’ midfield under Jurgen Klopp to a bit-part player with Slot, with the youngster seeing the majority of his minutes coming from the bench.

With Bayer Leverkusen keeping tabs on Elliott as Wolves continue to eye the £45m-rated Liverpool talent as a potential Matheus Cunha replacement, the 22-year-old’s future is up in the air, with the England youth international a player who could well move on for more first-team opportunities.

And Elliott might have added to the rumour mill on social media after Sunday’s result, with the Liverpool man posting a number of emotional pictures from the trophy lift, potentially hinting towards an exit in the summer.

With a rumoured asking price of £45m, Liverpool could make some serious profit by selling Elliott this summer, especially with clubs like Leverkusen and Wolves already lining up to sign the England youth international.

And with the Reds going big for Wirtz and more signings in the pipeline, a big sale is needed if Liverpool are to pass the financial checks that are now starting to burden Premier League teams both in the boardroom and on the pitch.

As good a talent Elliott is, it’s clear that Slot has not favoured the 22-year-old this season, and a promising offer from a good club could be beneficial for all parties this summer, even if it means Liverpool losing a top prospect.
