Ahead of the game, Liverpool's players have been preparing at the AXA Training Centre, with the cameras capturing every moment from Tuesday's session - here's what we spotted.

Isak's ready

Alexander Isak was of course involved in the session as the deadline day arrival eyes up his debut for Liverpool tomorrow.

Having been left out of the squad at Burnley on Sunday, Slot has suggested the $169 million man will get his opportunity against Atletico.

He certainly seemed to be in good spirits as he trained alongside his new teammates again on Tuesday.

Once again, even with the knowledge that he won't play a part tomorrow, Chiesa was alongside his teammates in training on Tuesday, no doubt with the possibility that a call-up could still arrive during the league phase.

Whether or not it does, he'll still have an important part to play this season, and it's good to see that he still looks determined to make an impact.

Jones out

Having missed Sunday's game, Curtis Jones was once again missing from training on Tuesday

The midfielder made a positive impact on the game when he came on against Arsenal before the international break, so to be out of action at the moment will be a frustrating blow for him.

Slot has suggested he should be able to return for Saturday's Merseyside derby, and fingers crossed that is the case, as Liverpool will need as many players fit as possible over the coming weeks.

Mac Allister boost

While Jones remains out, Liverpool fans - and no doubt Slot and his coaching staff - will be relieved to see Alexis Mac Allister in training today.

It has been a bit of a stop-start season so far for the Argentine, who missed the early stages of pre-season before returning towards the end of the tour of Asia, but hasn't hit top form yet.

Seeing him make way at half-time against Burnley after being on the end of that reckless challenge from Lesley Ugochukwu did raise concerns that he might end up spending more time on the sidelines.

Thankfully, that doesn't look to be the case, and hopefully he will be able to play some part against Atletico tomorrow, although Slot will have to remain cautious with him.

Kerkez's response

After the embarrassment of being substituted before half-time on Sunday, it was good to see Milos Kerkez with a smile on his face during training.

It has been a bit of a tricky start to the season for the Hungarian, although that is hopefully just a case of him getting used to his new surroundings
