Iraola joined the club’s academy director Alex Inglethorpe and U21s coach Rob Page as Liverpool’s youngsters were put through their paces. And it wasn’t just the academy stars in training, with Harvey Elliott and Jeremy Jacquet also getting in some early practice before the rest of the first-team arrives back from July 14.Here’s what we spotted from Liverpool’s latest training session this summer…Harvey's hard yardsIt's a huge summer for Harvey Elliott.

Less than a year ago, his Liverpool career looked to be over as he made his way to Aston Villa, with only 10 appearances needed to turn the loan move permanent.Unai Emery had other ideas, though, and having effectively had a year of his career wasted, Elliott finds himself back with the Reds, and with his future unclear. With Arne Slot gone, there is scope for him to work his way back into the picture at Liverpool, and he's certainly going about it in the right manner, having reported back to training early to catch Iraola's eye.Clearly, there is a lot of work to do for the 23-year-old — the 2024/25 season wasn't especially fruitful for him either. There is a space on the right after Mohamed Salah's departure, though, and he'll have done his chances of returning to the fray at Liverpool no harm this week.Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola speaks to U21s coach Rob Page(Image: Getty Images)Business as usualRichard Hughes will be a busy man this summer - or at least, he should be.Before he can start planning for life in Saudi Arabia, Liverpool's sporting director will have plenty of work to do in the transfer market, with the Reds' squad in need of a refresh after last season's disappointment.Although he looks destined to leave Anfield soon, for the time being, it seems to be business as usual, with Hughes seen speaking to Iraola during Thursday's session.

Hopefully, Liverpool's head coach might have supplied him with a shopping list.Ramsay's redemption?A move away from Liverpool looks to be the most likely outcome for Calvin Ramsay this summer, but for now, the Scotland international has the chance to stake a claim in the Reds' new era.Slot's decision to continually include Ramsay in his matchday squads last season but never actually play him, despite Liverpool struggling for options at right-back, was confusing to say the least, and you couldn't blame the 22-year-old if he wants to leave after that ordeal.Calvin Ramsay in training with Liverpool(Image: Getty Images)With Iraola now in charge, though, the slate has been wiped clean, and there may be opportunities for Ramsay in pre-season, given Conor Bradley is coming off the back of a serious knee injury. Will he be able to force his way back into contention for the first team? The young striker has had a nightmare couple of years after enjoying a breakthrough season during Jurgen Klopp's final year at the helm.Injuries have stalled what looked to have been a promising career in the making, but hopefully the 20-year-old can pick up where he left off and show his talent once again this summer. With Hugo Ekitike out injured, and with Alexander Isak's return likely to be delayed after the World Cup, there should be some opportunities for Danns to play up front over the coming weeks, and hopefully catch Iraola's eye ahead of the new campaign.
