Liverpool are gearing up for a busy end to the window and some big moves could still happen.

The Reds may have spent close to £300m and made over £200m from player sales, but there is still a lot of work to do.

Due to the number of outgoings, with some even being key figures at the club, Liverpool feel a little light in certain areas, especially in attack.

However, they might be about to lose yet another player and have even fewer options, with Harvey Elliott nearing the Anfield exit.

The Englishman has been tipped to leave all summer, but it appears now as if he is on the verge of finally completing a move, with there being just one domino now left to fall.

Elliott certainly is not short of potential suitors, with the Englishman having interest from multiple Premier League clubs as well as some abroad.

And, the latter appears to be the most likely option at this point in time, with the 22-year-old already agreeing personal terms with RB Leipzig according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Now, a transfer fee will need to be negotiated, but this has all been expected to be done once Xavi Simons has been sold to Chelsea, with Plettenberg also confirming that this should be completed after Leipzig’s game on Friday.

Liverpool would want around £50m for Elliott, although a deal at £40m could be done if a buy-back clause is included, something that would be smart from Richard Hughes given the Englishman’s talent.

If he were to be sold for the higher price, however, something Leipzig are more likely to agree on than to risk losing him later down the line, then Liverpool would have made over £250m from player sales alone this summer.

One worry from fans, though, will be that it would be yet another good option from the bench being sold, with the Reds already incredibly thin in this department.

It goes without saying that Liverpool probably should not be selling Elliott at this point in time, but if anyone is deserving of a move, it is him.

He possesses quality in abundance, he just does not get to show it often enough, and after giving his all for the club he supports, he should be allowed to move on should he believe this is the best option.

However, if this is the case, Liverpool must find a replacement as they need attacking options to successfully defend their title, something they are short of already.

Alexander Isak would be a great addition but another winger would be needed alongside him, as well as a centre-back to help with the defensive issues.

It has been an expensive summer already but they might still have to part ways with a lot more cash, suggesting the next week or so might be a little hectic.
