Harvey Elliott has been in fine form for England’s Under-21s in their World Cup run, with the midfielder netting both of England’s goals as they beat Netherlands Under-21s 2-1 on Wednesday.
This has sparked rumours around the former Fulham man’s future, with multiple clubs such as Brighton and Wolves both touted to be interested in a move for Elliott this summer.

And, while the future of Elliott hasn’t been decided upon yet, it seems like the youngster has already accepted where his future lies.

“There are spots opening up [in Liverpool’s midfield], obviously Harvey Elliott, there’s a real chance he goes,” he said.
“I think he seems to be more accepting of that idea; it looks like a spot is going to open up there.”
As the arrival of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen has now been finalised, it feels likely that Elliott will exit Anfield this summer.
The German plays in the Englishman’s favoured position, and even though Elliott can be used on the right wing, with Jeremie Frimpong now also a part of the Reds’ ranks, it feels like he’s been pushed further down the pecking order there, too.
Thanks to his performances for England at the Under-21s World Cup, it feels likely that his price tag has been boosted even higher as he’s once again proven that he can hold his own when it counts.
Liverpool look set to sell a fair few members of their first-team squad this summer, but seeing as though Elliott has a bright future ahead of him, it feels silly for Liverpool not to insert a buy-back clause into the deal.
