Anthony Gordon has named the Liverpool player who helped inspire the way he prepares for games, insisting that he is an absolute machine.

Speaking on The Overlap, Gordon suggested that he will often visualise what may happen in a fixture in the days immediately before.

But Gordon suggested that he is aware of Mohamed Salah doing similar.

But I just love the mindset of just getting in that place before I’m already there,” Gordon replied.

“And actually, I heard Salah talk about it.

People like that, you’re not going to go far wrong following what they do.”

Certainly, there is unlikely to be a better role model for Gordon than Salah.
