A few Liverpool players still need to have their futures ironed out before the summer transfer window ends.

Stefan Bajcetic has been linked with a loan move to Girona and could depart soon.

It was already revealed yesterday that James McConnell is set to embark on a season-long loan move to Ajax.

Another player in Kostas Tsimikas appears set to leave Liverpool this summer after falling down to third-choice left-back at Anfield.

The 29-year-old was notably absent from Arne Slot’s 21-man squad for the Community Shield clash against Crystal Palace, with newcomer Milos Kerkez and vice-captain Andy Robertson preferred ahead of him.

The situation became more obvious in Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth, where Tsimikas again missed out on the matchday squad while Kerkez started and Robertson was on the bench.

Slot’s clear preference for the 21-year-old Hungarian, alongside the veteran Scot, has rendered Tsimikas surplus to requirements.

Since joining Liverpool in 2020, Tsimikas has primarily acted as rotational cover and has never started more than nine league games in a single season.

With consistent game time becoming crucial at this stage of his career, a permanent move away from the club now seems the most likely outcome

Now, Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that AS Roma are refusing to abandon their pursuit of Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

This is despite there being a significant gap between Liverpool’s desire for a permanent transfer and Roma’s proposal of a loan with an option-to-buy clause.

The Giallorossi have made it clear they will only proceed with negotiations if Liverpool soften their stance and agree to a loan arrangement.

Roma’s strategy is to remain patient until the final days of the transfer window, hoping the Premier League champions will reconsider their position as September 1 approaches.

In layman’s terms

they are hoping the situation gets too desperate for Tsimikas at Anfield and that Liverpool accept a less than ideal transfer sale.

For Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini, Tsimikas represents a valuable addition due to his international experience and tactical versatility.

Liverpool have consistently favored a permanent transfer for Tsimikas.

However, with limited interest at their asking price and the window nearing its close, the Reds may be forced to consider temporary solutions
