'Able to leave': President admits he could sell £25m star to Wolves or Liverpool

Renato Sanches is free to leave Lille amid interest from Premier League trio Liverpool, Arsenal and Wolves, president Olivier Letang has said, via FootSur07.

Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal have also been linked.

“We saw he had been able to show an interesting level of performance during his return from injury at the end of the season, but also at the Euros with Portugal.” Could Renato Sanches make up for lost time at Liverpool or Wolves?

An ill-timed knee injury may have scuppered any hopes Sanches might have had of following Boubakary Soumare and Mike Maignan out of Stade Pierre Mauroy in the transfer window but, with the Portugal international fit and firing again, renewed speculation won’t be far away.

“I have already discussed with him, if an offer from a big club arrives, Renato will be able to leave,” former PSG chief Letang explains of a man who has bounced back in style after a difficult spell at the Allianz Arena and a disastrous loan at Swansea City.

The Athletic believes Wolves could return for Sanches next year, however, with the box-to-box ball carrier offering something different to the metronomic Ruben Neves and tidy Joao Moutinho.

Especially now Letang has confirmed the one-time Bayern Munich and Benfica wonder kid will be allowed to leave the reigning Ligue 1 champions if his heart desires.
