Liverpool are set to enter a crucial period in the summer transfer window as they stand on the verge of major squad changes.

The Reds are finally set to secure the signing of Florian Wirtz once and for all this week, while Milos Kerkez is likely to arrive in the coming days as well.

But while excitement reaches fever pitch over both Wirtz and Kerkez, the Liverpool squad is in need of some substantial trimming.

Given the enormous outlay spent on Wirtz, Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong – plus the desire for Liverpool to add a new striker to the mix – departures are inevitable.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Caoimhin Kelleher have already gone, but they will not be the only players leaving Anfield this summer.

Having already seen two storied Liverpool academy graduates go, Reds supporters may need to prepare themselves for a third exit.

“Active negotiations are ongoing – but the deal would be a separate one from Florian Wirtz, if it is completed.

“Sky Sports News previously reported Leverkusen’s interest in Quansah as the Wirtz deal began to progress.

“Quansah – who has been in contention for a senior England cap in recent months – signed a new five-year contract at Liverpool last October.”

Although talks are underway between Liverpool and Leverkusen for Quansah, Rousing The Kop understands that the Reds would still prefer for the 22-year-old to stay put.

Although Quansah found the going tough at times under Slot, Liverpool still rate him very highly and are initially planning for next season with the centre-back on board.

However, should Leverkusen – or any other interested team – be willing to offer £40m or more for Quansah,
