Social media is crucial to stirring up transfer speculation nowadays.
As the noise surrounding Florian Wirtz’s potential move to Liverpool grows louder, Adidas have waded in to turn the volume up a little bit more.
The latest update is that Arne Slot has promised Florian Wirtz ownership of the No.10 role, a promise that comes with assured regular playing time, a card that Slot appears to have played very well as Wirtz turned down Manchester City and now appears on the verge of joining Liverpool.
It is believed that the player has very much agreed to the move, it is now just down to the club to agree a fee that will see their biggest star leave.
After winning back-to-back Bundesliga Player of the Season awards and cementing himself as one of the very best in the division, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen are currently negotiating on a fee that represents such talent, with the latest figure arriving in the region of around £110m.
Whilst both clubs battle it out to reach an agreement, Adidas have fuelled the fire with a comment left under Wirtz’s most recent Instagram post.
The post was a series of pictures as Wirtz linked up with the Germany national team and Adidas’ comment was simple – “Loading…”
Florian Wirtz is an Adidas athlete, and what makes the comment more intriguing is that Adidas will become Liverpool’s shirt sponsor from next season, giving this comment more weight to it.
It is unclear what Adidas meant by their comment, whether they were referring to a move to Liverpool loading, or a successful international break with Germany, but Liverpool fans will like what they are seeing, as all signs continue to point towards Anfield for the super talented German midfielder.
