Rio Ngumoha has been rewarded for his incredible rise to fame with his first professional contract at Liverpool.
Liverpool fans have questioned why Ngumoha’s contract is only three years, but a rule from FIFA’s official rulebook states that those under 18 years of age cannot sign anything longer.
The winger burst onto the scene during pre-season, and after Ngumoha became the fourth-youngest Premier League goalscorer of all time, fans have been waiting for this news.
He continues to break records, hit the back of the net, and get supporters excited for the years to come, and he is not the only youngster whose contract should be addressed this season.

Playing the full 90 minutes of Liverpool‘s 2-1 win over Southampton on Tuesday, 22 September, Trey Nyoni continues to remind supporters of his talent.
However, with just seven first-team appearances to his name since coming through the academy, the 18-year-old is running out of time to cement his position in the senior squad moving forward.
Nyoni’s current deal runs until the summer of 2026, which means that the midfielder has already entered into the final 12 months of his contract, but the Reds are clearly keen to keep hold of their talent.

Last summer, Jamie Carragher labelled the player as “pretty special” after he made an impact during pre-season, but with so much talent in the squad already, it has been difficult to give him game time.
The obvious trio of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Ibrahima Konate must be addressed, whether that be to secure them on new deals or to make fans aware that there will be no extensions.
Konate appears to be edging closer to Real Madrid, which feels inevitable at this point, and it is uncertain how much longer the other two will want to play at Anfield, or even in their careers.
Andy Robertson‘s contract also expires next summer, but with Milos Kerkez now signed, it remains to be seen just what Slot has planned for the veteran left-back.
While there are several contract issues to sort out, stopping Nyoni from leaving next summer should be near the top of the to-do list this season.
