Liverpool’s goalkeeping department is undergoing significant change this summer.
Confirmation has come this week that Liverpool have signed 20-year-old Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Pecsi from Puskas Akademia.
This follows the release of Caoimhin Kelleher on a permanent move to Brentford as the Irish shot-stopper brought a 10-year spell at the club to an end.
Giorgi Mamadarshvili will seemingly replace Kelleher as Liverpool’s No.2 as his arrival from Valencia this summer will form a new look goalkeeping trio at the club.
That leaves Vitezslav Jaros at a crossroads as his future now looks uncertain.
Jaros made his Premier League debut for Liverpool in their 1-0 win away against Crystal Palace in October and also started Liverpool’s League Cap game against Brighton in which they won 3-2.
The Czeck goalkeeper is only 23 years old but has already been sent out on loan four times by Liverpool, enjoying spells with St.
Patrick’s Athletic, Notts County, Stockport County and Sturm Graz.
At such a young age, it is vital that Jaros continues his development and an opportunity has now come up for him that could represent the perfect opportunity for him.
John Heitinga has become Ajax’s new head coach after spending the last year as a coaching assistant to Arne Slot.
Heitinga will know Jaros well, and a reunion could now be on the cards as it has been revealed by Dutch medi outlet Voetbal International that Ajax have concrete interest in signing the Liverpool goalkeeper on loan.
However, as things stand, Liverpool’s demands are “too high” at the moment.
Jaros has is also wanted by Lille but as a backup keeper whereas at Ajax he will reportedly be the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
That may be something that will appeal to Jaros, as the promise of regular playing time will massively boost his development and confidence as a player.
Ajax do have several options that they are looking at when it comes to signing a new goalkeeper, but they Vitezslav Jaros is someone who is being “seriously considered.”
