Al Hilal’s main target was Victor Osimhen.

The Napoli striker had an excellent season on loan at Galatasaray.

He scored 37 goals in 41 games.

Al-Hilal wanted to sign him before the FIFA Club World Cup starts on June 14.

They made a big push.

But Al-Hilal agreed to pay the €75 million release clause.

They also offered Osimhen €30 million per season.

Despite this, he turned them down.

Now, Al-Hilal are looking elsewhere.

And Darwin Nunez is on their radar.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà says the Saudi side are eyeing Nunez as a serious alternative if they miss out on Osimhen.

Liverpool have been here before.

In January, they rejected a bid from Al-Nassr, who later signed Jhon Duran instead.

But this time is different.

The Reds are reportedly open to selling.

Nunez had a tough season.

He made only eight starts in the league and came off the bench 21 times.

He scored five goals and added three assists.

That’s eight goal contributions in 29 games.

Nunez was Liverpool’s record signing in 2022, costing £85 million.

But now, his future is uncertain.

Liverpool may decide it’s time to move on.
