Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr are reportedly planning to meet Brentford’s valuation of Yoane Wissa to seal his capture ahead of fellow suitors Newcastle.
Wissa’s 19 goals in the Premier League helped Brentford to a 10th-placed finish last season, but it has been all change in West London with numerous outgoings this summer.
Thomas Frank left the club to become Tottenham boss last month, while his strike partner Bryan Mbeumo recently exited to join Manchester United, and Christian Norgaard moved to Arsenal.
That has led to doubts over the 28-year-old’s future at Brentford, with Football Insider recently revealing that the Bees are set to price interested clubs out of signing Wissa amid interest from Newcastle, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest.

The Congolese international recently left Brentford’s pre-season training camp due to uncertainty around his future at the club, but is now back in training despite Newcastle preparing to return with a second offer for Wissa, after having an initial bid of £25million [Sky Sports] rejected.
With the Magpies set to bid for his services again soon, the BBC have reported that Wissa continues to want to leave the Bees despite returning to training under Keith Andrews.
A new report from French outlet L’Equipe claims that Al-Nassr are ready to meet Brentford’s asking price for Wissa to jump ahead of the Tyneside outfit and Spurs in the queue for his services.

The Saudi side are now believed to be trying to convince Brentford, Wissa, and his entourage to agree on a deal to join the club, and so Newcastle could be set for yet another blow in the transfer market.
Football Insider verdict
Football finance expert Dan Plumley recently told Football Insider that Newcastle are still in a “tricky spot” regarding finances, as they need to bolster their squad depth but could do with selling players to further ease PSR concerns before that happens.
They have routinely missed out on their summer targets so far, as Hugo Ekitike has joined Liverpool, while Newcastle wanted to sign Mbeumo but were beaten to the transfer by Man United, and Football Insider recently revealed that Eddie Howe was “devastated” to have missed out on signing Joao Pedro.
Alexander Isak also wants to leave St James’ Park, while Benjamin Sesko is another who looks to have chosen Man United over Newcastle, but their annoyances can be calmed by beating off competition from Al-Nassr to sign Wissa.

The BBC’s recent report states that the 28-year-old “still wants to secure a transfer to Newcastle during the current transfer window,” and so if they match the Saudi side’s potential bid, then a deal will surely be done.
Magpies boss Howe must still hold out hope of overseeing a successful end to the club’s summer business, and even after this setback, they will surely continue to pursue Wissa’s signature to calm any nerves ahead of the new campaign.
