Newcastle players past and present were quick to share their reactions after the club confirmed the arrival of yet another new face this summer.
What once looked like being a frustrating window for Eddie Howe has turned into a far more promising one in recent weeks.
Earlier in the summer, several top targets slipped away, with Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko both opting for Manchester United, Hugo Ekitike making the move to Liverpool, and Joao Pedro choosing Chelsea over a switch to Tyneside.
For a time, it seemed as though the Magpies might struggle to secure the calibre of player they wanted, but recent weeks have brought a shift in momentum.
Newcastle have since added Anthony Elanga, Aaron Ramsdale and Malik Thiaw to their squad, significantly strengthening key areas.
The recruitment drive has not stopped there as the club have now confirmed another signing, and the announcement has sparked plenty of reaction.

It was confirmed on 17 August that Newcastle have completed the signing of Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa in a deal worth around £39million.
The official announcement was shared across the club’s social media channels, with players including Anthony Gordon, Joe Willock and Newcastle legend Alan Shearer all showing their approval by liking the post.

Newcastle saw off competition to secure his signature, with both Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur having shown interest in Ramsey earlier in the window.
The 24-year-old was understood to be keen on finding more regular first-team football after making 19 starts for Unai Emery’s side last season, and he now gets the opportunity to play a key role under Howe.
Aston Villa had initially valued Ramsey at £50million, and at one stage it appeared he would remain at Villa Park.
However, Newcastle pushed for a compromise and ultimately agreed a £39million deal to bring him to St James’ Park.

Despite already strengthening their midfield options with Ramsey, the Magpies remain keen on adding further creativity to their squad before the window closes.
Football Insider revealed Newcastle are plotting a move for Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss, although they face competition from Crystal Palace.
The 21-year-old previously had a £30million release clause in his contract at Leicester, and while that clause is no longer active, a departure from the King Power Stadium remains possible should the right offer be made.
