Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal have found themselves in a three-horse race for the Premier League title this season.

Just one point separates the teams with Arsenal leading by goal difference on 64 points, Liverpool also find themselves with 64 points whereas City are trailing behind on 63.

The Gunners and the Cityzens are set to face one another this weekend in what could become one of the most pivotal points of the entire season for the three clubs.

If Mikel Arteta’s and Pep Guardiola’s men draw on Sunday whilst Liverpool win, this would benefit the Reds’s chances of coming away with the title significantly.

Jurgen Klopp’s men would find themselves on 67 points whilst City and Arsenal would be on 65 and 64 respectively.

This would allow the Anfield club to find themselves atop of the Premier League table once again and give them a slight advantage over their counterparts.

Prior to the international break, we took a look at each teams next three top flight fixtures and believe that the Reds have a ‘nicer’ run-in.

However, if the Gunners or the Cityzens come out of their clash triumphant, this could spark problems for the Reds’ title hopes.

Although finishing in the top four following the trials and tribulations of last term would be a stellar mark of progression from Liverpool, the top flight title would be an ideal way for Klopp to round off his Anfield stint.

Not only that, but, with the Reds also finding themselves in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, the German could even end his Liverpool tenure with a treble after the club won the Carabao Cup earlier in the season against Chelsea.

Many fans and pundits alike have spoken about the Reds’ prospects this season with each having different opinions about how they feel the season will end.

Alan Shearer is one of these pundits who has chimed in about which team will finish the Premier League season triumphant.

He claimed in his column for The Athletic that ‘my instinct is to make Manchester City favourites to win it now, even though they’re third in the table, a point behind the other two.’

‘They’re more familiar with this position.

No side has ever won four consecutive Premier League titles but the track record they have is precious.

‘If you’ve done it before, you understand defeat isn’t a disaster; you trust yourself and each other and draw upon your knowledge.

‘If you’re new to it or less versed in it, hesitation can fester.

‘It won’t be perfection for City, Liverpool and Arsenal over the next two months because life is rarely like that.

Arsenal haven’t claimed a league title for 20 years, but vied for it last season; does that help or hinder them now?

Arguably, they have the toughest fixtures.

‘Liverpool have won it once under Jurgen Klopp, in a season extended and affected by Covid-19, and are desperate to add another before the manager leaves.

Does that propel them or smother them?

‘In my view, City will be the most relaxed, but that can change.’

Although in the eyes of Alan Shearer, he believes that City have the advantage, as he said, things can change and until the final whistle in the last game of the season blows, nothing is guaranteed.
