Alan Shearer acknowledges that Mohamed Salah might have felt frustrated with Jurgen Klopp following a visible disagreement during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against West Ham United on Saturday.

Salah engaged in a heated exchange with Klopp moments before being substituted onto the field at the London Stadium.

Coincidentally, this altercation preceded Michael Antonio’s goal, ultimately securing a point for West Ham.

Klopp attempted to downplay the incident following the match.

He said: “We spoke about it in the dressing room but it’s done for me.

That’s it.”

Asked if it was resolved for Salah as well, Klopp added: “It was my impression, yes.”

Salah, however, declined to disclose further details about the incident as he left the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

“There is going to be fire today if I speak,” the Egyptian offered before walking away from the assembled media.

Salah has netted an impressive 210 goals in 346 appearances throughout his illustrious Liverpool career, emerging as the club’s top scorer this season with 24 goals across all competitions.

Nonetheless, mirroring the performance decline of several teammates, his recent form has seen a downturn, leading to his exclusion alongside fellow forward Darwin Nunez for the West Ham fixture.

The incident was scrutinized during Saturday night’s Match of the Day.

Alan Shearer, a legendary figure from Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United and the Premier League’s all-time leading goal scorer, opines that Salah was justified in feeling aggrieved.

“We don’t know what Klopp has said to him there, he’s said something that has riled him,” said Shearer.

“He’s obviously got the right hump with being left out and probably rightly so.

“Even though he hasn’t hit the heights that Mo Salah has done over the years, he’s been unbelievable.

“Ignores Jurgen, gives Liverpool fans a little round of applause and goes straight down the tunnel but we’re guessing as to what Jurgen said to him.

“I understand if Mo has got the right hump because the number of times he’s been Liverpool’s saviour and Liverpool’s superstar.

“He’s got 17 in 25 league starts.

“It’s a shame it’s going to end like that.”
