The 32-year-old enjoyed a memorable six-year spell at Anfield, where he helped the Reds lift several major honours.
Oxlade-Chamberlain joined the Reds from Arsenal in the summer of 2017, and after settling in, quickly made his mark with his explosive dribbling, vision, and long-range finishing.
His infectious personality also made him a popular figure in the dressing room.
Deployed mainly in midfield with license to push forward, he thrived in Jurgen Klopp’s dynamic side.
However, his progress was repeatedly hampered by injuries, including two serious knee problems.
In total, he made 146 appearances for Liverpool and scored 18 goals.
Following his release from Liverpool in 2023, Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Turkish side Besiktas on a free transfer.
He still had a year remaining on his deal but has now left the club by mutual consent.
In a statement, Besitkas said: “Our contract with our professional football player Alexander Mark David Oxlade-Chamberlain has been terminated by mutual consent.
“According to the agreement, the player will be paid a termination compensation of €1,750,000.”
He has not featured in any of the first six matches of the new season.
The midfielder was initially frozen out by former coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst – now Arne Slot’s assistant at Liverpool.
However, he regained his place in the team last season following the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s last appearance came in a 4-1 victory over Adana Demirspor on May 11.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made 50 appearances for Besiktas, scoring five goals and helping the club lift the Turkish Cup in 2024.
