Besiktas are in talks with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over the mutual termination of his contract.

The former Arsenal and Liverpool attacking midfielder has just one year left to run on his current deal in Istanbul.

However, he is now in the process of negotiating the terms of his exit which potentially, would pave the way for a return to English football as a free agent.

Following the conclusion of his holidays, Oxlade-Chamberlain has been back in England stepping up his recovery from a knee injury that saw him miss the final matches of the 2024-25 campaign.

He only featured 20 times in all competitions for Besiktas last season, scoring just one goal.

Meanwhile, The Black Eagles are also closing in on the signing Kyle Walker-Peters on a free transfer following his release from Southampton.

An agreement is thought to be close and there is optimism a medical could take place in Istanbul as early as next week despite links with Fenerbahce.

Walker-Peters has attracted Premier League interest since he entered the final six months of his Saints deal but a move to the Turkish Super Lig now appears to be a strong possibility.

Besiktas have already wrapped up an agreement to sign Benfica midfielder Orkun Kokcu in a major boos for boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Norwegian has seen both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce strengthen their squads since the transfer window opened.

Jose Mourinho pulled off a significant coup by landing former Aston Villa centre-forward Jhon Duran on loan from Al-Nassr.

England left-back Archie Brown is also joining the club from Gent after Fenerbahce saw off interest from AC Milan.

Champions Galatasaray remain in talks with Napoli over a permanent deal for Victor Osimhen after putting a monster offer worth up to £65million on the table.
