Liverpool continue to be linked with both Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The duo have been linked with moves to Anfield throughout the summer transfer window, and those links are expected to last right up until Monday’s 7pm deadline.

Isak himself is pushing hard for a transfer to Liverpool, with the club seeing a £110 million bid rejected earlier in the summer.

Meanwhile, Guehi is now the subject of a £35 million bid plus a 10 percent sell-on from Liverpool, but Palace are holding out for a price closer to £40 million.

And The Athletic’s David Ornstein, speaking on Sky Sports’ Sunday Supplement, believes: “Liverpool are still interested in both of them, for sure, and we've certainly not heard the last of it.

“I don't think Liverpool are sort of actively doing much at the moment around the Isak situation because they will have felt that their £110million offer was the place that pretty much they were prepared to go.

"We know previously they had indicated willingness to do a deal at around £120 million, so of course...

There'll be a bit of wiggle room on their part, but I don't necessarily see them wanting to go much or any higher than that.

“Newcastle have been completely clear in their stance that they don't intend to sell Isak this summer.

Maybe they stick to their guns or maybe there's a compromise that is to be reached.”

He later added: “The fact that he [Isak] doesn't want to be there clearly, he's intent on making this Liverpool move and it seems he expects it to happen before the deadline.

Liverpool remain interested in a deal for the Swede.

Meanwhile, Marc Guehi has been a player of interest all summer and Liverpool could still launch a last-minute deal for the Crystal Palace defender.
