Alexander Isak has told Newcastle United he is considering leaving the club this summer with Liverpool primed to make a sensational move for the striker.
It emerged early on Thursday that Isak had been left out of the Newcastle squad for their tour of Singapore and South Korea as he continues to nurse a minor thigh injury.
But a report from the Daily Mail has stated the Magpies have been made aware of the striker's desire to explore a move away from the North East with Liverpool now on standby to make a British record offer.
Newcastle have been steadfast in their insistence Isak is not for sale with the 25-year-old, who scored 27 goals in 42 appearances for the club last season, valued in excess of £120million.

However, with no sign of a lucrative new contract - first indicated last year - being signed, the door is now open for Liverpool to make a move having already spent more than £250m already this summer.
Isak still has three years remaining on his present deal and Newcastle are under no pressure to sell under the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

The Magpies, though, may have no option but to consider offers rather than keep a player who is open to a fresh challenge.
Arsenal had considered a move to Isak earlier in the summer but didn't believe Newcastle were open to a sale and had issues with the price tag, instead turning their attentions to completing a deal for Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres.
The Saudi Pro League also have an interest in Isak, but it appears Liverpool are now front-runners should Newcastle's resolve now be weakened by the latest developments.
