Alexander Isak could be made to wait for his Liverpool debut after the international break(Image: 2025 Liverpool FC)Liverpool fans will be eager to see Alexander Isak lining up for their team as quickly as possible following his deadline day move to the club.
After an initial unsuccessful bid that was lodged in early August, Liverpool finally announced the signing of the Swedish international for a British record fee two and a half hours after the transfer window had shut on Monday evening.
While football fans often share their frustration with the first international break of the season coming just three weeks in, the Kop faithful will be more desperate than usual to see the resumption of Premier League football in two weeks' time.
As with it will most likely come Isak's first appearance for Liverpool - but only if he is deemed match fit.

After a summer that saw Isak effectively down tools at Newcastle, with him missing the duration of pre-season and the start of the 2025/2026 campaign, he is naturally far form being in peak condition.

Upon his return, and if deemed not fit enough to face Burnley, Isak could make his bow in either of two blockbuster ties for Liverpool.
Isak could turn out for the Reds on Wednesday, September 17 in a game that will see Arne Slot's side take on their first Champions League fixture of the season with a league phase match against Atletico Madrid at Anfield.
Isak also has an opportunity to make a spicy home Premier League debut for Liverpool against neighbours Everton on Saturday, September 20.
Yet Isak's move fractured his relationship with his former club beyond repair, with both parties releasing pointed statements on the saga.
The 25-year-old admitted that finally securing the move to the Premier League champions has come as a relief and he is now focused on getting on the pitch as soon as possible.
"It’s mixed emotions – some relief but a lot of pride, happiness," he added.
