Sweden and Liverpool forward Alexander Isak(Image: JONATHAN NACKSTRAND/AFP via Getty Images)Sweden boss Jon Dahl Tomasson admits it was too much of a "risk" to play Alexander Isak during the 2-2 draw with Slovenia on Friday evening.
Isak remained on the bench throughout as Sweden dropped two points in their opening World Cup qualifier.
The striker, who finally saw a £125m transfer from Newcastle United to Liverpool sealed on deadline day, hasn't kicked a ball all summer after refusing to play for the Magpies in a standoff over his future.
Isak's insistence on a move to Liverpool saw him train with his old side Real Sociedad and miss Newcastle's pre-season schedule, which included a tour to the Far East.
He didn't feature in any of the Magpies' opening three Premier League fixtures.

After arriving on Merseyside to put the finishing touches to a British transfer record deal, Isak flew out to join up with his international team-mates on Monday evening.
However Tomasson was unwilling to take any chances with Isak's fitness despite Sweden's failure to beat Slovenia.
Isak could feature against Kosovo in Sweden's next match on Monday evening.

He said: “We would love to play him, everyone would.
But after three training sessions with the group, and no proper training all summer, the risk is a little too great.
“He could be a game changer against Kosovo, I believe.
In the long and short term."
Liverpool will hope Isak returns to Merseyside fit and ready to make his debut as they travel to Burnley next weekend before hosting Atletico Madrid in their Champions League group stage opener.
