Liverpool fans have seen their team go big in the transfer market this summer but they are not finished yet.

After spending close to £200m, many expected the Reds to have concluded most of their big business, but all the rumours throughout the summer have suggested they are not fully satisfied just yet.

They have shown their cards too as of late and proven that they still require investment into the team, with a new number nine their top priority.

Alexander Isak has always been the ‘dream’ signing and Liverpool have significantly intensified their efforts to sign the Swede, with reports stating they are preparing a £120m bid for the Newcastle attacker.

There is no denying his quality and almost everyone in the Premier League knows just how good he is, making him an excellent addition to Arne Slot’s team.

Not only this, Isak has experience of playing at Anfield too, with his previous comments suggesting that he’d love to play there week in, week out.

Liverpool are not just a team notoriously hard to beat due to the quality of players they have at their disposal, but also due to how much of a fortress Anfield is.

The supporters act as the 12th man and suffocate the opposition with their noise, giving them no time to breathe on the ball as they roar on the players donning the Red shirts.

Isak himself has played there on many occasions, with the Swede saying in a Sky Sports interview back in January 2024 that it is the best away stadium he has visited in the league.

“Anfield is good, very good,” Isak said with conviction.

“I think their average level is very high in the Premier League.”

St James’ Park is also well-known for its incredible atmosphere so he would have no trouble adapting to life at Liverpool, with the support next season expected to be off the charts considering the team Slot is compiling.

To be able to retain the title, the Reds are going to need their fans in full voice, but they are also going to need a clinical striker who will win them games, and Isak is certainly the man to do just that.

Liverpool have been linked with a whole range of incredible talent, but none have the same ring to them as Isak does.

The Reds wanted Isak before signing Darwin Nunez, with Jurgen Klopp opting for the Uruguayan instead, showing that he is a long-term target and not just a rash decision.

He has proven to be one of the world’s best and at 25, he is ready for the next step in his career, and what better place to do this than at the Premier League champions?

Newcastle can, of course, offer him Champions League football, but so too can Liverpool as well as much, much more, with the project being constructed at Anfield being frightening for rivals to say the least.

He would cost an absolute fortune, even more than Florian Wirtz set the Reds back, but if anyone is worth the money, it is him.
