Alexander Isak continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool after he released a bombshell statement on Tuesday night.
Isak broke his silence amid his attempts to force a move out of Newcastle United by accusing the club of breaking promises in a lengthy statement on Instagram.
The forward has been trying to force a move out of Newcastle all summer but was frustrated earlier this month when the club rejected an offer from Liverpool, reportedly worth £110million plus add-ons.
Having sat out their pre-season tour of Asia and trained alone since, missing Saturday’s goalless draw at Aston Villa in Newcastle’s Premier League opener, Isak has long cut a frustrated figure at the club.
And in his statement he said: "I'm proud to be recognised by my fellow professionals with a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season for 2024/25.

"I'm proud to be recognised by my fellow professionals with a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season for 2024/25," said Isak in a post on his Instagram story.
"First and foremost I want to thank all my teammates and everyone at Newcastle United who has supported me along the way.
I've kept quiet for a long time while others have spoken.

"That silence has allowed people to push their own version of events, even though they know it doesn't reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors.
That's where things are for me right now - and why change is in the best interests of everyone, not just myself.
"Alexander Isak."
What followed was a statement from Newcastle in response to Isak's post, making it clear that they are determined to keep the striker at St James' Park.
Liverpool will be watching on with plenty of intrigue, and the message from Isak certainly told Arne Slot what he wants to hear.
The Reds have made it clear this summer they want to invest in the best players available in their respective positions, while also looking to bring in young talent with the potential to improve.
Isak ticks both boxes in that respect, having scored 62 goals across 109 appearances for Newcastle and being named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for last season.
Isak's message was a clear declaration that he wants to leave Newcastle this summer.
And with Liverpool showing the strongest interest in signing the Sweden international so far, Slot should be delighted that a player is showing such determination to be part of the project at Anfield.

Liverpool will now be in a position of deciding what to do next.
Do they wait for encouragement from Newcastle before making an offer, or take advantage of the continued drama and make their move now before it could be potentially too late?
