Liverpool only have a couple of days to wrap up any remaining business before the transfer window shuts.

The Premier League champions have already forked out nearly £300m on new players this summer, yet they've shown no sign of slowing down ahead of Monday's deadline.

Arne Slot began by welcoming Giorgi Mamardashvili to Anfield from Valencia.



The left-back has been heavily linked with a move away this summer and reports on Friday night suggested he's set to join Roma on loan, freeing up space on the wage bill.

The ECHO also understands the Premier League champions have decided to resist late attempts to sign Harvey Elliott, after coming to the conclusion that his true value exceeds the current market rate for players in his position.

It comes following recent transfers between £38m and £42m for the likes of Tyler Dibling (to Everton), Jacob Ramsey (to Newcastle United), Matheus Fernandes (to West Ham United) and Omari Hutchinson (to Nottingham Forest).

Once Hughes has resolved the futures of Elliott and Tsimikas, the Liverpool sporting director should do whatever it takes to sign Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi.
