Liverpool are continuing to be linked with a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
The Sweden international has been mentioned as a potential target for the Reds for several months, with the rumours beginning to ramp up at the start of pre-season.
As the ECHO reported on Tuesday, Liverpool are long-time admirers of Isak as the Sweden international emerges as a top target for the club this summer.
Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike has also been linked with the Reds, while Newcastle are also reported to have had an offer turned down by the Bundesliga club.

Liverpool are yet to make an offer to Newcastle for Isak at this moment in time, nor has there been any approach to the Tyneside outfit about the striker.
As Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for Isak, should a deal get completed it would likely see them break their own transfer record for the second time this summer following the £115million deal for Florian Wirtz.
With the amount of money potentially needed to sign Isak, Liverpool would hope that the striker would be available for the vast majority of the time he is at the club.
Isak missed nine matches for club and country last season due to injury, two of which came since the turn of the year.
It was during the 2022/23 campaign, Isak's first since his £62million switch from real Sociedad, that the striker endured the most time on the sidelines with injury.
In total, the striker missed 18 games for Newcastle and Sweden with a thigh injury across the first half of the campaign.
In 2023/24, Isak had two separate groin injuries that saw him miss a total of 12 matches across the campaign.

As a result, since his move to England, Isak has been absent for 39 matches for club and country which averages out at 13 games per season.
If Liverpool were to sign the striker, the Reds will be hoping that those numbers decrease significantly as they look to defend their Premier League title.
