Newcastle fans reacted in unison to call out Alexander Isak after a journalist’s update on his current stance amid speculation about a move to Liverpool.
The Swede’s future at Newcastle has come under fresh doubt in recent weeks after reports suggested Isak has made it clear he wants to explore options outside of Newcastle, following an approach from Liverpool.
Despite already completing the signing of Hugo Ekitike, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Liverpool remain confident of landing Isak, with a formal bid expected soon.
The 25-year-old is not currently part of the Magpies’ pre-season tour of Asia due to a thigh injury, adding to speculation around his immediate future.
With Luis Diaz already sold and Darwin Nunez also tipped to leave Anfield in the coming weeks, Liverpool are believed to be preparing for a reshuffle in attack, keeping Isak firmly on their radar.
However, a fresh update from a journalist has sparked backlash from Newcastle supporters, many of whom have expressed their frustration at their striker.

Amid ongoing speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, Isak is now training away from the Newcastle squad, despite previously being ruled out with a thigh injury.
According to Keith Downie of Sky Sports, the Swedish striker is currently training alone at the facilities of his former club Real Sociedad, rather than joining Eddie Howe’s squad on their pre-season tour in Asia.
He also revealed that Isak has “informed” Newcastle of his desire to “explore his options” this summer.
Additionally, Real Sociedad are reportedly entitled to 10% of any fee received over €70 million (£60.5 million), which could factor into negotiations should a move materialise.
This comes after Football Insider previously reported that Liverpool’s sale of Luis Diaz is set to accelerate their transfer business, with both Isak and Anthony Gordon identified as potential additions at Anfield.
The Magpies had previously made their stance clear: Newcastle do not want to sell Isak.
However, there is growing concern within the club that Liverpool’s approach earlier this month may have unsettled the 25-year-old, prompting his push to leave.

With Newcastle back in the Champions League and Isak still having three years remaining on his contract, the Magpies are in a strong financial position to resist pressure to sell.
But the news of Isak choosing to train away from the squad has not gone down well with sections of the fanbase, despite his previously strong rapport with supporters.
One angry fan reacted to the development by writing: “Disgraceful behaviour from a so-called professional.” Another called for immediate action: “Unacceptable, get him sold.
