Liverpool are still waiting for Newcastle to give them the green light to move for Alexander Isak.
The Reds try to stay away from transfer sagas when trying to buy players, suggesting that when they end up in one, they know it will be worthwhile.
This is the exact feeling they have with Isak right now and this is the story that has dominated the headlines over the past few weeks, with this only expected to continue throughout August.
The player himself and Liverpool have made their thoughts known, the ball is now in Newcastle’s court to make a decision.
They want to sign a striker before considering a transfer, however, something that might now take even more time after Benjamin Sesko has decided to move to Manchester United.
That being said, there has been a positive update regarding Isak’s proposed move to Anfield, and he might just be following in the footsteps of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

When players are actively seeking a move away, managers have a big choice to make, that being to either let them go or prove a point.
Sometimes, however, both can occur, with Aubameyang the prime example of this as he was forced to train alone before eventually being sold.

Now, journalist Craig Hope has confirmed that Isak has also been made by Eddie Howe to do the same, with this giving Reds fans a slight bit of optimism that a transfer will happen.
He reports that the Swede has been given a separate training time to the rest of the squad, meaning that he does not actually see his team-mates, all of whom you would imagine are rather annoyed at him.

This comes after Howe’s fierce warning that players need to earn the right to train with the team and things cannot just return to normal, something he has proven with this move.
Although Isak might be left disappointed with the decision, it only bodes well with Liverpool, especially as things are getting a little bit ugly and suggest it is beyond the point of no return.
Of course, in an ideal world, Isak would already be a Liverpool player by now if he had his own way, but he might be cut a frustrated figure for a little while longer.
With Sesko choosing to join Man United, the Magpies now need to go back to the drawing board and look for a new striker target, although they already have many in mind.
Yoane Wissa looks set to make the move, but he is not seen as the replacement for Isak, only as an addition alongside the main striker.
Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson are two players who would be seen as a replacement, however, meaning these are the names that Liverpool fans need to keep an eye on over the coming days and maybe even weeks.
