Then, last week, the Reds confirmed the signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth up to £116million with add-ons.

Milos Kerkez will also soon boost Slot's options at left-back once his £40m move from Bournemouth is completed.

The Reds are certainly not resting on their laurels, and we have taken a look at what we believe would need to happen over the next couple of months in order for Liverpool to enjoy a dream window.

Marc Guehi question

Liverpool, you expect, will shift focus to finalising player exits over the coming weeks - and one player who will be heading for pastures new is Jarell Quansah after a £35million deal was agreed with Bayer Leverkusen.

Once that deal goes through, it would be wise for the Reds to bring in a replacement as soon as possible - and it seems that Marc Guehi is a player admired at Anfield.

Guehi has impressed at Crystal Palace since his move from Chelsea in 2021, and with one year remaining on his contract, it could present a market opportunity for the Reds.

The question will be, though, if Liverpool can agree a deal with Palace for their club captain, who just over a month ago lifted the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium.

However, there is no doubting that Guehi would be a great addition to Liverpool's squad.

Alexander Isak statement

Liverpool have been tentatively linked with signing Alexander Isak for a few months now, and for some reason, since the Reds splashed more than £100million on a deal for Wirtz, the rumours linking Liverpool with signing the Newcastle United striker have seemingly intensified.

It's understood that Liverpool are huge fans of Isak, but whether or not that will turn into an active transfer pursuit is another matter

There is the question of what fee it would take Newcastle to even consider negotiating a deal for the Sweden international.

If Liverpool can somehow have the funds available to test Newcastle's resolve, it would certainly be one of the statement signings of the summer and one that would further improve Slot's side.

Raise funds through sales

Liverpool will know that they will need to sell some players this summer in order to raise funds for other deals and to trim the squad.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher and Nat Phillips have already left the club on permanent deals, and it's expected that more will follow

But who will join them remains unclear.

Andy Robertson, Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa, Luis Diaz, Kostas Tsimikas and Harvey Elliott have all been linked with a move away this summer.

If Liverpool do go on to sanction the exits of any of the aforementioned players, it would certainly give them some more financial room to work with for potential new signings going forward.

Ibrahima Konate contract

Aside from the topic of transfers, Liverpool will also have to deal with contract negotiations.

Ibrahima Konate's future has been the subject of speculation ever since Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold's futures were confirmed

Konate is now about to enter the last year of his contract at Anfield, and there have already been rumours of interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

As a result, Liverpool would be wise to step up their efforts in reaching a breakthrough in contract talks with Konate over the next couple of months so as to avoid more speculation when the Premier League campaign gets underway in August.
