The supporters supported the team which is my big ask, which they have done unbelievably well.
"If they want to say something afterwards, they are free to do that."
Howe 'hopeful'
Howe maintained there is still time for Isak to be reintegrated into the Newcastle squad, urging the striker to ‘decide what he wants to do
"The door is well and truly open," Howe told reporters after the game.
"In his mind, the Newcastle chapter is over, and even if a deal is not done to secure his departure before the transfer window closes, his mind is not in the place of being reintegrated into Eddie Howe's squad," he told NBC Sports on Friday.

In his mind, he also let Newcastle know about his intentions as long as a year ago, when they said to him there would be no new contracts because of their attempts to comply with Financial Fair Play and Profit & Sustainability.
Ornstein continued: "Also, the fact that he earns so much already and, at that point, he was under contract until 2028 for four more years.
"Without revealing any details regarding whether Isak will transfer or stay with Newcastle.”
Reds' 'stance'
Journalist Ben Jacobs believes that Liverpool will only re-enter talks with Newcastle over a potential Isak deal if they believe an agreement is achievable.
The Reds saw a bid of approximately £110million turned down earlier in the summer and would only be prepared to return with another bid if Newcastle's stance softens.
"Liverpool if they’re back (in talks with Newcastle) are only coming to collect Alexander Isak, they’re not coming to be speculative, they’re not coming for a back and forth," Jacobs told the Born N' Red podcast
