Liverpool transfer target Alexander Isak(Image: Charlotte Wilson/Offside/Offside via Getty Images)Newcastle United are seemingly on the verge of ending their long search for a striker as Alexander Isak continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
Stuttgart confirmed on their website on Thursday evening they have received an offer from an unnamed European club for Nick Woltemade.
That club is believed to be the Magpies, who have agreed a club record £65million fee to sign the German.
The fee eclipses the £63m the North East club paid for Isak from Real Sociedad three years ago.
And with Isak in mind, we have rounded up the latest developments over the past 24 hours.

According to The Telegraph, Isak's proposed move to Anfield has moved closer to becoming a reality over the past 24 hours.
They claim that Liverpool are manoeuvring into position to send a second offer, and sources expect a British record-bid to be sent over the coming weekend.
However, the report also claims that the offer will be short of Newcastle's £150m price-tag but still worth £130m plus add-ons and bonuses.
Sky Sports are reporting that Woltemade landed in the North East on Thursday night, and the deal is progressing quickly.
Asked for an update on Friday, Eddie Howe said: "Things are moving and developing in a good way at the moment.
Until things are done, I can't confirm anything - but fingers crossed."
Transfer deadline day is almost upon us and Liverpool still have business to do.
It's already been a busy summer for the Premier League champions but they could still pull off a couple of blockbuster signings as the window comes to a close.
Alexander Isak's future remains unresolved, with the striker refusing to play or train for Newcastle United.
Liverpool remain interested in a deal for the Swede.
Meanwhile, Marc Guehi has been a player of interest all summer and Liverpool could still launch a last-minute deal for the Crystal Palace defender.

Speaking on Friday morning, Arne Slot revealed he is still open to the idea of Liverpool recruiting 'the right player' for the right money
He said: "We try to sign players that can help us, but there’s no reason after the first two games to complain or to think we need more," he said.
"If we can strengthen the squad then we will always try to do that, if it’s for the right money and the right player, and there are only three or four days to go now.

"Let’s see if we do something, and if we do something, what we can do."
Slot added: "Newcastle signed, if it’s true and I have no reason not to believe what you are saying, a new number nine.
