Alexander Isak is on the verge of a move to Liverpool from Newcastle after crucial details are revealed regarding the monster transfer sum and contract duration.

The twist and turns of transfer deadline day are already in motion as the Swedish striker is finally expected to make his major move to the Premier League champions Liverpool.

Sources told Football Insider on 31 August that Isak was more likely to remain at Newcastle with a transfer looking increasingly unlikely with the window nearing a close.

However, how quickly things change as the announcement of the Magpies’ forward moving to Anfield has angered Newcastle fans who blame majority owners PIF for Isak’s proposed agreement to join Liverpool.

Components of the agreed deal have been dropped as it looks like the Reds faithful will finally get their hands on the player they’ve been hunting all summer.

Having already broken the record British transfer fee for the £116million signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen (Sky Sports), Arne Slot is about to smash this again.

According to Paul Joyce on X (1 September), the agreement is in place between the two clubs who have been locked in talks for much of the summer.

After a plethora of rejections for targets across the transfer window, the Toon did finally find their replacement for the number 14 in the form of Nick Woltemade.

The German was in attendance for Newcastle’s 0-0 draw with Leeds United on the weekend (30 August), signing for a reported £64.86m (Sky Sports).

The deal broke the club’s transfer record in what has been a blockbuster summer for big money moves.

Yet, the 23-year-old will now have to quickly fill the boots of the departing Swede, looking to show his new club why he is so highly-rated by the likes of Bayern Munich who were beaten to the signing of Woltemade by the Magpies.

The six-foot-six frontman has only had one sensational season, notching 17 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for Stuttgart last seaosn.

Heading to the Premier League is going to be a huge step up for the former Werder Bremen prodigy, as he contends with living up to Isak’s sensational legacy at St James’ Park.
