The summer transfer window is back open and Liverpool are once again being linked with several potential new signings.

The Reds now have until September 1 to complete their transfer business for the summer as they prepare for their Premier League title defence.

Liverpool have already completed two new signings this summer with Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi moving to Anfield.

The Reds have also agreed a £116million deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz and are also pushing to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

If Liverpool manage to get deals over the line for Wirtz and Kerkez, attention will then turn towards who will be next on their transfer shortlist.

One player who has been linked with a move to Anfield is Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

Here, the ECHO puts together what has been said and written about Isak's future amid reported interest from Liverpool:

As reported by the ECHO on Monday, Liverpool are huge fans of Isak as they continue to be linked with signing a new striker.

The Reds are also monitoring the future of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike as the summer transfer window rolls on and would only move for one or the other.

Newcastle are reported to value Isak at a fee in excess of £100million.

The Athletic reporter David Ornstein claimed last month that Newcastle qualifying for the Champions League would make it almost certain that the striker will not leave St James' Park.

"For them [Newcastle], it's not so much about the PSR, it's more about their stature, and the Saudi-led ownership ambitions to really kick on," Ornstein told NBC Sports.

"Also, keeping somebody like Alexander Isak.

Newcastle's perspective is that he's not for sale at any price."

Since Isak has been linked with a move to Liverpool, various reports have claimed to provide an update on what price tag Newcastle would put on the striker's signature.

ChronicleLive reported earlier this year that Newcastle would not get value for money for Isak this summer even if they were to sell the striker for £150million.

The transfer experts state that Isak is valued between €85million (£72.5million) and €108million (£92million).
