Liverpool have been given an update regarding the future of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
The Reds have been heavily linked with signing the Sweden international throughout the summer and the rumours have ramped up over the last few weeks.
Isak was not part of Newcastle's travelling squad for the club's pre-season tour of the Far East.
This came as Liverpool saw a £110million bid rejected for Isak last week, with the ECHO understanding that the Reds are not expected to make a second offer as things stand.
Despite this, Isak is continuing to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
Chronicle Live have reported that the striker has been instructed by Newcastle to train alone rather than with the rest of the squad ahead of the start to the new Premier League season.
