Liverpool have been active in the transfer market this summer, signing Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Giovanni Leoni, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman, with the possibility of more arrivals still to come.
The Reds have also parted ways with Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Tyler Morton, and Nat Phillips.
Ben Doak has now joined Bournemouth on a long-term deal.
Just like the incomings, there is also a realistic chance that additional players could leave before the transfer window closes.
Looking ahead, Liverpool will be preparing for their second Premier League fixture of the season as they travel to face Newcastle United.
Before the trip to St James’ Park, speculation is expected to intensify over potential new signings, as well as players who could depart Anfield.
Among the players linked with a move to Liverpool, Alexander Isak remains a key target.
The Sweden international is in a standoff with Newcastle over his desire to join the Reds before the transfer deadline.
After Newcastle’s 0-0 draw at Aston Villa over the weekend, Eddie Howe said he wants a “quick resolution” to Alexander Isak’s self-imposed exile.
Howe said: “We would like a resolution.
I am talking about myself, I am sure the ownership, and the players.
“We need that clarity.
I think only one person really (Isak) can control that.”
He added: “This season, any season, every season, is going to be hard enough.
You don’t need any kind of distraction to swerve your thoughts, to unbalance what we’re doing.
“I hope it’s resolved quickly, because it’s news around us all the time.
We have to continue to do that.”
According to BBC Sport, Isak is not expected to attend Tuesday night’s Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) awards gala.
Although he has been nominated for the main award, uncertainty over his future at St James’ Park could keep him away from the ceremony.
In previous years, PFA award nominees and players selected in their respective division’s Teams of the Year have confirmed attendance within 24 hours of the event, so it remains to be seen whether Isak makes a late decision.
