Alexander Isak will not receive a loyalty payment from Newcastle when he joins Liverpool, with the Magpies reportedly negotiating it out of his move to Anfield.

It’s understood that the payment would have been related to Isak’s decision not to hand in a transfer request.

As per the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, the Magpies have managed to negotiate that clause out of Isak’s move to Liverpool, meaning he will not be entitled to the one-off payment.

The player is closing in on a £125 million ($169M) move to Liverpool on transfer deadline day, although the fee received by Newcastle will be closer to £130M ($176M) due to additional solidarity payments.

It comes after the Magpies completed the signing of Nick Woltemade last week, while reports have indicated that the club remains interested in signing a second striker before the window shuts.

Yoane Wissa has been a long-term target for Newcastle, while reports have indicated Wolves have turned down multiple bids for Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Isak will complete his medical at Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre on Monday before finalizing his move to the Premier League champions.

He will join the only side in the English top flight that still has a 100 percent winning record after three games, following the Reds’ 1-0 victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

Isak, who has scored 54 goals in 86 Premier League matches, will face competition for places from Hugo Ekitike in the No

9 role.

The Frenchman has made an immediate impact since his £79M ($107M) summer move from Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring in each of his first three Premier League matches.

Isak’s arrival will be the most expensive transfer in Premier League history.

Liverpool had offered £110M ($149M) for Isak last month and opted to play the long game after that bid was rejected
