Alexander Isak could reportedly become one of Liverpool's highest earners if he secures a move to Anfield this summer.

The sought-after Newcastle striker has indicated that he's open to exploring his options, sparking speculation about a potential departure from the Magpies.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with the Swedish international, who could command a fee of up to $201.5 million following his outstanding goal-scoring form last season, netting 27 times.

Initially, Liverpool were informed that Isak was not for sale, leading them to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht for $107M instead.

However, after the 25-year-old failed to join Newcastle on their pre-season tour in Asia, Liverpool have been given renewed hope that they might still be able to secure a deal for their top target.

Such a transfer would take Liverpool's spending spree to $500M after bringing in stars like Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Ekitike - and it would place him among the club's top earners.

Sky in Germany reports that Isak would earn roughly the same as Ekitike, who recently signed a contract worth over $330,000 per week.

If Isak agrees to these terms, he would rank joint-third behind star player Mohamed Salah - who just inked a new deal worth an astonishing around $460,000 per week - and captain Virgil van Dijk.

The Dutch defender reportedly earns around $529,000 per week following his own contract extension at Anfield.



Rumors of Isak's possible departure from Newcastle have intensified over the past week

It's believed that Isak is currently earning around $160,000 per week at Newcastle, and the prospect of doubling his salary could increase his desire to transfer to Liverpool.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has consistently expressed confidence that Isak will remain with the club this season, although he seemed less optimistic about the player's future after Isak failed to join the squad for their pre-season tour.
