Alexander Isak continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool after another sensational season with Newcastle United.

The Reds have already been busy in the transfer market with Jeremie Frimpong entering the fray and Florian Wirtz edging closer to a blockbuster move.

The Germany international is set to shatter Liverpool's record transfer after a £116million agreement was reached with Bayer Leverkusen.



Milos Kerkez remains a target, with talks ongoing to sign the Hungarian, with Arne Slot eyeing reinforcements after their Premier League title triumph.

The title-winning front four have faced speculation over their respective futures, with Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo all the topic of interest from clubs around Europe and the rest of the world.

Nunez has failed to reach the heights, as he has only managed 40 goals in 143 appearances - including five in his side's title-winning season.

Saudi Pro League clubs as well as Atletico Madrid and Napoli have been credited with interest in the former Benfica striker.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been linked with Hugo Ekitike during the transfer window, while Isak has been frequently mooted with a cross-Premier League move.

Isak's exploits in the Premier League could make him a credible option for Liverpool, but the recruitment chiefs on Merseyside face the task of bargaining with a rival in the shape of Newcastle.

According to CIES Football Observatory, the Sweden international should be valued between €85million (£72m) and €108million (£91m).

The boffins have sampled over 8,000 transfers, evaluating prices of players from the five major European leagues using the statistical technique of multiple linear regression, with fees paid by clubs as an independent variable.

Previously, Chronicle Live claimed that the Magpies would not get value for money if Isak sold for £150million.

At the end of the season, The Athletic's David Ornstein claimed that Newcastle reaching the Champions League would see Isak go nowhere.

"For them, it's not so much about the PSR, it's more about their stature, and the Saudi-led ownership ambitions to really kick on," he told NBC Sports.

"Also, keeping somebody like Alexander Isak.

If Newcastle reached the Champions League today, he is going nowhere.

"If they don't, I think some suitors may think there's a glimmer, a slight chance that they could test the waters on that front.
