It’s shaping up to be the best Liverpool transfer window in living memory after the latest update on Alexander Isak.
Liverpool’s summer spending spree – already well north of £260 million – has left little doubt the club is prepared to break the British transfer record once more should Alexander Isak’s stance force a move.
Newcastle, said to now be aware of his desire to join Liverpool, have simultaneously drawn up contingency plans, lining up the likes of Benjamin Šeško and Yoane Wissa as potential successors to their star striker.
Isak’s own camp, led by agent Gonzalo Gaitán, has confirmed that “all options are being studied” and that they may be “close to finalising the next step” for the player – without ruling anything in or out.
Adding fuel to the fire was Isak’s absence from Newcastle’s Asia tour, officially attributed to a minor thigh injury, but has since been explained by the striker wanting out of St James’ Park.
Now taking to X, the Fabrizio Romano reaffirmed that the Magpies bagsman only wants Anfield – and that it’s his absolute priority this summer:
“Once again: Alexander Isak wants Liverpool, it’s his priority as reported,” revealed Romano.
“No talks with Al Hilal, Chelsea or Manchester United.”
