Alexander Isak may be wanted by Liverpool, but he is yet to agree personal terms with the Reds as some reports have indicated.
The Reds have emerged as major contenders in the race to sign Isak, amid increasing speculation that the Newcastle United striker wants to quit St James’ Park before the 2025–26 season.
According to numerous reports, Isak has rejected Newcastle’s contract offer and has told the club he wants to leave this summer.
Liverpool have already made an official approach to Newcastle, with an opening bid of approximately €115?million (£100?million)—but this initial offer was promptly rejected as the Magpies remain firm in their stance that Isak is “not for sale”
However, Fabrizio Romano and other transfer insiders confirm that Liverpool have not ruled out pursuing a second offer, and remain open to negotiations should Newcastle change their position.

are now preparing a club?record bid in the region of £120–130?million to secure Isak’s signature, a sum that would smash their previous transfer records.
The 25-year-old has also reportedly made his preference known—expressing interest in a move to Liverpool and favouring Champions League football at a top club—suggesting the player may be receptive to a transfer under the right circumstances.
However, while Isak wants to move to Anfield, he has not agreed on personal terms with Liverpool, as is reported in some quarters.
This is according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who has provided an update on the Isak story.
Taking to X, the journalist said:
“Alexander Isak is open to a move to Liverpool and would welcome a bid.
However, suggestions he has already agreed terms with Liverpool, as of now, are wide of the mark.”
